During the regular season, DeJuan Blair had the most start by any Spur, the burly center had 62 starts in 66 games for San Antonio and helped the Spurs finish with the best record in the West.
However, with Boris Diaw inserted to the starting lineup, Blair got lost in the rotation. With Diaw pairing up with Tim Duncan in the post, the Spurs have won two playoff series without losing.
Blair meanwhile, has only played six postseason games averaging 3.8 points and 2.4 rebounds in just 8.2 minutes per game.
When the Spurs face the Oklahoma City Thunder, he could have his chance.
In three games against the Thunder this season, Blair averaged 11.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal on 65.2 percent shooting from the field in 22 minutes per game.
On San Antonio's 114-105 victory over Oklahoma last March 16, the beast scored 22 points and grabbed 11 boards.
Coach Gregg Popovich said he was aware of Blair’s previous success against the Thunder and hopes he will produce against them if given the opportunity.
Blair has been patient, professional and has handled his situation pretty well, if he can provide the Spurs some energy, hustle and rebounding when his number is called upon, there is no doubt that San Antonio will continue with their winning ways.
