Duncan to stay with the Spurs for three more years
As reported by Mike Monroe of Spurs Nation, a framework of an agreement is in place that will keep Tim Duncan with the Spurs for three more seasons, according to a league source familiar with the dealings between the two-time Most Valuable Player and the club.
Details of the 36-year-old Duncan’s new contract have not been finalized, but negotiations are expected to be concluded soon.
Terms are expected to be similar to those agreed to last week by another 36-year-old former MVP big man, Boston Celtic Kevin Garnett. Garnett’s deal is said to be for $36 million over three seasons.
Yahoo! Sports first reported the pending, three-year agreement between Duncan and the Spurs, who are moving quickly to lock up their own free agents.
