Manu Ginobili had 26 points, five rebounds and three assist off the bench, while Tim Duncan added 16 points and 11 rebounds, as the San Antonio Spurs won their 19th straight, and more importantly beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 101-98 to open their Western Conference finals on Sunday night.
Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 27 points and 10 boards, Russell Westbrook had 17 points, five rebounds and five assists, and James Harden scored 19 points for Oklahoma.
Tony Parker finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists and Gary chipped in 12 points for San Antonio.
It was a close match all throughout.
The Thunder led 47-46 at halftime and made a strong run in the closing minutes of the third period to extend their lead to nine points entering the fourth, but Spurs came back quickly using an 18-3 run early in the final period to help the Spurs rally for the win.
Game 2 is Tuesday night at AT&T Center in San Antonio.
