The San Antonio Spurs' strong inside game proved too much for the Los Angeles Clippers. San Antonio outscored Los Angeles 24-4 on inside points during the first half, and led 46-42 at halftime before pulling away in the third quarter.
Tony Parker scored 22 points, dished out five assists and had three steals on his 30th birthday, Tim Duncan added 18 points, five rebounds and three assists as the Spurs defeat the Clippers 105-88 on Thursday night, pushing their winning streak to 16 games and taking a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference semifinal series.
Boris Diaw had 16 points, four assists and four rebounds, Danny Green chipped in 13 points, while Manu Ginobili scored 10 points and had five assists and Tiago Splitter scored nine points and grabbed three boards off the bench for San Antonio.
Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 20 points, but only had one rebound in 37 minutes of action.
Chris Paul had 10 points, five assists and two steals and Randy Foye scored 11 points for Los Angeles, who will head home facing 0-2 series deficit against the Spurs.
The Clippers shot a blistering 69.2 percent from beyond the arc (9-of-13), but San Antonio outscored them on fast break points 15-9 and killed them on the inside 50-18.
Game 3 is Saturday night in Los Angeles.
