Russell Westbrook scored 27 points and dished out nine assists, Kevin Durant added 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Oklahoma City Thunder dominated the visiting Los Angeles Lakers 119-90 on Monday night in the opening game of the Western Conference semifinal series.

The Thunder took a 15-point lead at the half, then opened the third quarter with a 15-2 run and never looked back.

Oklahoma City led by as many as 35 points, and the Lakers never threatened after halftime.

The Thunder outscored the Lakers on fastbreak points 13-0 and committed just four turnovers the entire game.

However, starting center Kendrick Perkins appear to aggravate the hip injury he sustained during the first round of the playoffs. Perkins limped off the floor and did not return after getting hurt.

Andrew Bynum led the Lakers with 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Kobe also scored 20.

Game 2 is in Oklahoma City on Wednesday night.
